Kent Marine turbo-Strontium

Turbo Strontium provides bio-available strontium for lush growth of purple, pink and green calcareous algaes, snails, hard tube worms and clams.  Corals will open more and stay attached to their skeletons better with regular use.  Phosphate and nitrate free!  Contains no gluconates, EDTA or other organics to raise DOC levels, as many competing products do.  This product is the main ingredient in other strontium supplements in economical dry form!

DIRECTIONS:  Make a 10% (by weight) stock solution by mixing 10 grams of Turbo Strontium powder with 100 milliliters of reverse osmosis or deionized water.  (Assistance in measurement, 10 grams is about 3/4 of a tablespoon, 100 milliliters is 3 1/3 oz or about a half a cup).  Add 1/2 teaspoon of this stock solution per 50 gallons of aquarium water every week.  (Daily addition is always more beneficial, so one-seventh of this amount can be added daily).  Strontium is the second most important additive to the reef aquarium (calcium being the most important).  Adding more than the recommended amount of Turbo Strontium is generally very safe and can be beneficial in many cases, particularly when you have heavy animal loads.  If you decide to increase the dosage, just read the cautions below and cut back should any adverse reactions be noticed.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR USE:  This product contains anhydrous strontium chloride (no molybdenum).  It should be used by experienced reef keepers who desire to rapidly raise the sstrontium level in their tanks.  Novices or casual users should use Kent Marine Strontium & Molybdenum Supplement instead of this product.  Product may get very hot when mixed with water, use rubber gloves and always mix outside the tank!  Excessive usage may result in rapid strontium compound precipitation and deposits which can possibly be destructive to pumps and other sensitive system equipment and can also deplete system alkalinity.  This can endanger a stable pH and pH may fall.  Caution is therefore advised and proper buffering via regularly measuring alkalinity (carbonate hardness or KH) and adjusting with Kent Marine Superbuffer-dKH or Kent Marine Marine Aquarium pH Buffer is absolutely necessary.  Absorbs moisture, keep tightly closed!
