How Many Fish Can I Put In My Aquarium?
You need to be careful not to put more fish in your aquarium than the tank will take care of. By this I mean, if you have too many fish, you will have a lot of waste (when they go to the bathroom) and it will cause problems for you with your Nitrogen Cycle.
The general rule is: 1 inch of fish for every gallon of water. Keep in mind that if you have a fatter fish, it will take up more space than a little thin fish will. Also, YOUR FISH WILL GROW!
Start slow with only a few and if you are able to maintain all levels in your testing OK, then add one more fish at a time. Too many will only cause you problems and you want to have fun with your fish.
